Oh, so that's what people are reading at Tihar Jail.

I never fail to be surprised by the innate ability of the internet to house some of the most bizarre and brilliant things. Look what I found as I was glancing through the Open Magazine website!

The list of books people are reading in Tihar Jail's largest library. :O
Tihar's Jail number 3 has 6,000-odd books, all donated in myriad languages.
From Vikram Seth and Tarun Tejpal to Orhan Pamuk and Karl Kruszelnicki.

WOW.

P.S. And guess what? I don't see any Chetan Bhagat! Muahahahahaha.

as they say that our jails are not for making responsible citizens but they make a good educated and noble man a hardened criminal who can only think of crimes once released... lets hope the jail environment gets better and upon release, the people become resposible and social and help improve the social mix :)

Jails are scary hellish places in my mind. All those documentaries I've seen on Discovery on prisons around the world have made them seem even worse.

I only hope jails serve as much as a system of reforming injured minds, as they serve as instruments of punishment.
