But it was the regular immersion in literature that was the reason for my self-definition. To this day, I understand my life in the context of Jane Eyre and Raskolnikov, versus Brad Pitt and ‘the Rachel’. In an age of false perspective, where Shah Rukh Khan can appear taller than Deepika Padukone, and where marches are held to stand still, literature helped me gain knowledge in a way that television, or even the internet, never has.
Books have taken me to places I didn’t necessarily want to go, forced me to confront my prejudices, assumptions, and at the bare bottom, forced me to confront my ‘self’ at an intrinsic level. Words make me vulnerable in a way actions never seem to. For those precious moments, when I’m alone in bed with a book, I don’t feel alone. That fleeting moment, where the author actually connects with the reader, makes me realize that the ability to articulate is a beautiful one.
I can't believe half of December has vanished. Bombay continues to be a furnace, the morning breeze nothing but an ambush, the evening chill nothing but a glimpse of an actual winter.
Guess what? We got our very first client. (YAY!) I didn't ever imagine my life turning out the way it has.
2011 has been a breathtaking beauty of a year. Personally. Professionally. Every which ______-ally, there is.
I've been excruciatingly happy. I've been breathlessly sad. I've been indelibly excited. I've been morbidly afraid. I've undoubtedly lived.

You write so well..
I agree with Felicity. You're a truly marvellous writer. Your words form sentences that are seemingly effortless, genuine and laden with real warmth.
It is a joy to read your blog and your posts have been missed on your mini-hiatus. :)
Good luck with everything, although I'm convinced you don't really need it.
Much affection and adoration,
Karishma. :)
Bombay's a furnace? Delhi's FREEZING! It's 3 in the afternoon and there's FOG outside. :|
Cool, hun?
Nitisha,
It is said not without a reason that books are man's best companions. Please do keep up with this habit. Congratulations on success in professional field.
Take care

First off, Merry Christmas everyone :) :)
Sorry for this mini-hiatus. It was just a case of lost time. Turns out running a start-up is LOADS of hard work. But writing is, and always will be, my first love :) I thank everyone who thinks I can string a few words together with some grace. :)
Sanket, you absolutely must read Crime & Punishment. It's a great read.
Jack, I know I haven't commented back enough, but thanks a ton for keeping up with my writing. Literature is my life, I'll never give up reading as a habit. As a matter of fact, I'm reading A Brief History of Time right now :)
And Poppy! Bombay's just hot. The weather just about qualifies as a cool summer. :/
Karishma and Felicity, you are loved and you know it.
Happy New Year, everyone :)
Happy New year and Happy Birthday :) Good Luck and god bless you!
